Information: This coin is published and illustrated in the standard reference for the gold and silver coinage of Philip II: Le Rider, G. Le monnayage d’argent et d’or de Philippe II frappé en Macédoine de 359 à 294. (Paris, 1977). The coin was originally discovered in the 1965 Thessalonica (or Olympias in Chalcidice) region hoard (CH1, 37).
